The A.L.P.H.A. (ALpha Leadership Program for Higher Achievement) Leadership Program was established to make positive contributions to our community through the implementation of a mentoring program for college-bound male and female students from emerging communities (i.e. African-American, Spanish Speakers, and other potential first generation college students). The purpose of the program is to provide a mentoring program for middle and high school students to develop their leadership skills, as well as prepare them for college.
The mentoring program is open to students in grades 6 - 12 in the metro Atlanta area. The mentoring program will be run jointly by members of The L.E.A.D. Foundation (Leadership, Education and Development), administration officials/faculty of Norcross High School, and faculty of Pinckneyville Middle School. Starting in January, the students will meet meet on a regular basis with their mentors in a group setting.
